Edward Lee, Senior Vice President
Edward Lee is the Senior Vice President at the Urban League of Greater Madison. He has been with the Urban League since 1995 in various roles, including the interim President and CEO. He has managed the Urban League’s three main divisions: College Readiness & Career Development, Workforce Development, and Home Ownership with a team of nearly 40 employees.
Edward was a driving force behind the Schools of Hope Middle School tutoring program which serves almost 2,000 students annually. He also created the Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Service Program which promotes youth leadership, youth service, and cultural pride.
Edward also has a solid background in fund development. He played a lead role in the creation of the Urban League Center for Economic Development and Workforce Training. He has worked to secure grants from the Kresge Foundation, State of Wisconsin’s Division of Public Health HIV/AIDS program, the Madison Community Foundation, the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, and many others. Ed holds a Master’s Degree in Black Studies with a concentration of public education issues as well as further education from The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University: The Fundraising School.
