Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Recognition Breakfast

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast is Dane County's oldest and largest family observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Nearly 200 students from middle and high schools all across Dane County are recognized for their outstanding academic accomplishments, extracurricular involvement, and volunteer service. The Madison Metropolitan School District also announces their annual Mann Scholars at the Breakfast. Children, families, elected officials, business leaders - a must attend event! Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Service Day

Through the leadership of the Urban League, Dane County was one of the first communities in the nation to honor the King Holiday through a massive mobilization of youth performing volunteer service projects. MLK Youth Service Day is a collaboration of many Dane County youth-service organizations, including United Way of Dane County and the Dane County Youth Board. Click here to learn more here.
